Bouncing Floor Show
Mid way through this show at High Side Tunes and Brews the owner came up to me and said they had never seen the audience make their floor bounce the way it did for this Gourds show.
Show got off to casual start and just kept getting better and better and better. Somewhere mid way through though the show really blasted off and the crowd was going nuts dancing, singing and screaming and just living it up on a Montana Saturday night
Also from now on I am making claude get his own damn towels

one of the better shows & recordings
this is a great show, beginning right away with keith's drumming and jimmy's phrasing on the first tune. other highlights (for me) include the rare "grave on the green hillside" and the pairing of "hamfisted > boil". tomski, I agree with you that the transition is seamless...but I kinda wanted it to go on a bit longer, giving it time to build up a bit (like a china/rider). turns out kevin sprung that 2nd tune on the boys, so he had to start singing it before they naturally finished up hamfisted. by the way, speaking of the GD, just for a second at the beginning of "teacher" I thought they were playing "fire on the mountain". almost fainted with joy. oh, almost forgot...the recording itself is very good. same equipment and taper from the previous night at the wilma theater, but a MUCH better sound. musta been the sound guy at the wilma :)
p.s. go here for a grainy look at track 18 from this show. has lots of energy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZrBzycb7LI&feature=related
p.p.s. based on its recording quality & performance value, I'd have to group this Livingston, MT gourds show with some of the better ones currently available on archive (e.g., the Mercury Lounge 2004-04-25, the Wood House 2008-04-15, and the DougFir 2008-02-15).

Cissy
Don't miss the "Cissy Strut" tease in "All in the Pack". Another note about this show- crowd was shakin' it so hard on the 2nd story dance floor (and it wasn't a sprung floor), the whole place was swayin' and bouncing, with people looking around for reassurance that this wasn't the end. But if it was going to be the end, that was okay... it was during a Gourds show! Thanks for taping, Tucker- it sounds great!

wow!
A really nice-sounding recording of a terrific show. Ham-Fisted Box of Gloves flows seemlessly into Boil My Strings. You gotta hear it to believe it. And Jimmy pulls out 5 acoustic songs.
High-energy night. This is a must-get show.
